Statkraft is Europe's largest generator of renewable energy and has operated in the UK since 2006.
In addition to the Alltwalis Wind Farm, Statkraft is the owner of the 56MW Rheidol Hydropower Station - the largest of its kind in England and Wales. The 317 MW Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm has recently been completed and was officially opened in a ceremony with guests including the Secretary of State Ed Davey and the Crown Prince of Norway. Some 50 permanent local jobs have been created by the development in addition to 700 jobs created during the construction.
Baillie Wind Farm (co-owned by Statkraft) in Caithness has recently been constructed, consists of 21 turbines with a tip height of 110m and is a joint venture between Statkraft UK Ltd and local partners. You can learn more here: www.bailliewindfarm.co.uk
Statkraft is also constructing the Berry Burn Wind Farm near Inverness. The construction process will create between 40 and 50 jobs and is expected to be finished by early 2014.
